The teenager is set to return to the Championship after spending the first half of the season with Sheffield Wednesday.

Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri is in France for a medical with Marseille following the agreement of a loan deal.  

The move is expected to be confirmed in the next 24 hours.

It is a straight loan until the end of the season for more game time, with Nwaneri still in Arsenal's long-term plans. 

Working with Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi to develop him is understood to be a major factor behind the move.

A number of Premier League and European clubs were interested in getting Nwaneri on loan this month. 

The 18-year-old signed a new Arsenal contract until 2030 last summer.

Crystal Palace are weighing up two proposals for winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

Its understood Celtic and Stoke City have offers on the table for the 23-year-old, who has been recalled from his loan at Turkish side Caykur Rizespor.

Palace are open to offers for Rak-Sakyi and are believed to want a permanent deal, or a loan with achievable outcomes to trigger an obligation to buy.

His situation has been described as fluid in this window, with a number of clubs making enquiries and exploring the conditions of a potential deal.

Swansea City were close to completing a deal for the player earlier this month, but they were unable to agree on personal terms.

Rak-Sakyi was on the verge of signing for Celtic on loan last summer, but the move fell through on Deadline Day.

Coventry City and Ipswich Town have held a long-term interest in him, but Coventry have signed Palaces Romaine Esse on loan until the end of the season.

Amorim drove Man Utd interest in Mateta with midfielder prioritised instead

As things stand, there is no expectation that United will pursue a striker in this window after spending 200m on Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

United's next priority is reinforcing the midfield and are planning to do so in the summer.

St Mirren land Etete loan signing

St Mirren have signed forward Kion Etete on loan from Cardiff City until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has made 63 appearances for the Bluebirds, scoring nine goals as well as spending time on loan at Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham United over the past year.

He is St Mirrens third January signing.
